Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Tokonoma collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit tokonoma.art, buy from us, or contact us. We handle personal data in line with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

What we collect

When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, delivery and billing address, phone number if you provide one, and details of what you bought. When you join our mailing list, we collect your email address. When you write to us, we keep the message and your contact details. When you browse the site, cookies collect basic technical information such as your device type, browser, approximate location and the pages you view.

We do not see or store your full card details. Payments are handled by our payment providers.

How we use it

We use your data to process and deliver your order, to contact you about it, to handle exchanges and questions, to prevent fraud, and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. If you have joined our mailing list, we use your email to tell you about drops, exhibitions and events.

Marketing emails

We only send marketing emails if you have signed up for them. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by writing to info@tokonoma.art.

Who we share it with

We share your data only with companies that help us run the store: Shopify, which hosts our website and processes orders; our payment providers; the courier and postal services that deliver your order; and the service we use to send emails. They may use your data only to provide those services to us.

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose it where the law requires us to.

Where your data is stored

Some of these companies store data on servers outside Singapore. Where your data is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it receives a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires, for example for tax and accounting records. After that we delete or anonymise it.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss or misuse. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies

Our site uses cookies to keep items in your cart, remember your preferences, and measure how the site is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site, such as the cart, may not work properly if you do.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our using it. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer fulfil an order or keep you on our mailing list. To make a request, email info@tokonoma.art. We may need to confirm your identity first.

Children

Our site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Links to other sites

Our site may link to other websites, including social media. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page.
